Halloween In New York City

What’s your Halloween tradition? Scary movies and tons of candy? Haunted houses and screams? Or activity packed with corn mazes, pumpkin carving and delicious seasonal treats?

Faint of Heart? Earlier this month, we mentioned classic fall events outside of the city: pumpkin patches, apple picking and warm cider. Or head to Queens Botanical Garden for their Halloween Festival of crafts, costume dance party, and a trick or treat trail - a perfect family outing.

What’s Halloween without costumes and a parade to show it off? Join the Village Halloween Parade on October 31st which starts at 6th and Canal and runs from 7:30 to 10:30pm. If you want to be a part of the parade, make sure you plan a costume! Plan for next year: if you have a furry friend, the Village also does a Dog Halloween party every year. This year’s already happened (October 20th) but photos are up to see the creative costumes that showed up.

The ultimate immersive Haunted house experience is being hosted by the McKittrick Hotel in the Sleep No More Setting. To align with the holiday, Sleep No More brings you a Hitchcock Halloween Party. 3 nights of music, performances, food and drinks.

For those cinematography buffs, head to Brooklyn Academy of Music for their NYC Horror line up. A line-up of films where New York takes center stage to horror over the years.

Happy Halloween!
