Insider's Guide to 'The Met'

The Metropolitan Museum of Art aka The Met, highlighted in tv and film such as Gossip girl, When Harry Met Sally, The Thomas Crowne Affair and many more, is a top museum to visit when staying at Park Central’s hotel in New York. The museum brings in amazing works and exhibits spanning 5000 years with thought provoking exhibits and explorations. We’re here to give you two insider tips for your next visit (or your first!).

Warmer nights are on the horizon and if you know New York City summers, it gets hot and humid. As the evening approaches and the sun sets, finding the perfect rooftop to take it all in is on everyone’s list. Add The Met’s Roof Garden Bar to your list. April - October this rooftop garden bar is open, serving cooling cocktails and parisian style sandwiches. Do a late afternoon trip to tour the museum and then head to the top floor for your reward!

Did you know the Met has other locations in the city? Take yourself outside of the city feels and escape to The Met Cloisters, located on four acres in Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park. Cloisters is dedicated to art, architecture and gardens of medieval Europe. With a suggested donation, take a tour of the grounds and enjoy their European inspired Cafe with outdoor seating. And while no new dates have been released, they also host evening concerts later in the year.

Rooftop bars and ‘secret’ locations, two great adventures for the summer months ahead. Perhaps, you’ll discover your own ‘insider’ secrets to share.
