Last Minute Plans in NYC for Thanksgiving

Sometimes plans fall through (hello, cancelled flight) or you can’t quite get yourself together in time (or you don’t want to) and now you find yourself in New York for the Thanksgiving holiday. Making sure you have a place to stay at a midtown Manhattan hotel like Park Central Hotel puts you in a prime spot for plenty to do and little time to waste.

Forget the stress of cooking and be thankful for an amazing dinner reservation! There are lots of restaurants with Thanksgiving inspired menus with last minute reservations available. Rather than searching the web for which restaurants are open, we like to use OpenTable to filter out exactly what we’re looking for and a direct line to making a reservation. It’s also a great time to try and get a reservation to hard to book restaurants you’ve been dying to try. People tend to stay in and cook at home so availability is better during this time.

New York City is never short of things to do but take advantage of the holiday feels. Last year we told you the best unkept secret of Thanksgiving Eve  watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloons getting inflated. Or head over to Bryant Park’s Winter village for all the holiday festivities: food, ice skating, warm hot cocoa, need we say more?

If outdoors is not your thing, not to worry! Shops are getting a head start on their Black Friday deals by releasing them early. Let the warmth of 5th Avenue departments stores keep you cozy as you get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping. Or maybe you just want to enjoy a holiday cocktail? Miracle, a holiday inspired pop-up bar, has four locations with festive decorations ‘from Santa Statuettes to sparkling garland, packaged presents and fake snow’. Holiday inspired cocktails keep you warm from the inside out.

No matter how you celebrate a few extra days off, there’s tons to do in NYC fit for your search. Happy Thanksgiving!
