It’s a jungle out there and surviving the sun is the goal this month. New York City is the most lively during the summer with plenty to do and discover, even if you’ve been living here for years. August is about the tried and true, the new, and the unique.

Sunset on Governors Island (Now - October 31)
A little island off the southern tip of Manhattan, Governors Island has a front row seat to the sunset. The Trust “just” (July 1) announced its last ferry off the island has been extended to 10pm Sunday - Thursday and 11pm Friday and Saturday which means you can actually stay for the whole evening to sundown.

Previously at the McKittrick Hotel, get seated at the new location, The Lodge, for a night of rotating performances table side of cards shows, illusions and  sleight of hand. Not sure where the speakeasy comes in but we can pretend the liquor is illegal.

Mocktail with a Twist

Their event calendar is also booked with live performances, art shows, and poetry readings throughout the month.
