New York City Things To Do in July

Bust out the summer playlist and celebrate the month of July. What are we celebrating? Everything: America, weddings, music, food, the weather.

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks (July 4)

Switching sides of Manhattan each year, 2023 will be on the East River so Brooklyn and Queens will get front row seats as well. The fête begins at 8pm and isn’t just a few minutes of exploding glitter in the air. Performers like The Roots, LL Cool J, Bebe Rexha, Brett Young, Jelly Roll and more will be providing the playlist all night. There’s a few ‘official’ watch points or hopefully you can befriend someone with a rooftop view ASAP.

Largest Wedding Day (July 8)

The Pandemic wasn’t a great time and adding salt to the wound was having planned your big day only to have it canceled. In 2022, (Re)Wedding brought together those affected and celebrated their mutual turn of fate. This year, Lincoln Center invites couples, friends, partners, throuples, anyone, to celebrate love at the largest wedding day. Register online for this free ceremony/event (not legally binding) and stay for the reception at the outdoor dance floor of performances, Lady Bunny, and more.

Time Square Concerts (Every Tues - Fri)

The epicenter of the city, Time Square, is not lacking in attention grabbing sightseeing. But in case you needed a new reason to mosey to midtown, Time Square Live is celebrating summer with DJs, dancing, and music all month long. Starting at 5pm at different locations along Broadway, a free performance will kick start your evening.

Restaurant Week (July 24 - August 20)

Say less. No explanation needed but there’s a couple of details to be said for the newbie to this concept. Four weeks of restaurants offering pre-fixe menus for lunch and dinner at reduced prices. Get out of your comfort zone and celebrate new food experiences at one of the 380+ restaurants participating this year..

Summer Stage (All Month)

It’s not a celebration unless Summer Stage is mentioned. All summer long, 80 (free) concerts of every genre are hosted throughout the boroughs with the main stage and performances in Manhattan at Rumsey Playfield. Plan ahead and get to venues at least an hour before the start time when doors open.
