New York City Things To Do in June

North River Lobster Cruise

Tour the Hudson Bay eating law-bster and enjoying a drink. Perfect for families during the week or a party and day drinking on the weekends. The boat docks every two hours starting at 1PM. Hop on at 7pm to catch the summer sunset. If you have a large group, meet up early to ensure your pick of togetherness and seating.

Tribeca Film Festival (June 8 - 19)

Another year of epic films, talks, storytelling and more. It is not just a film festival but an outlet for artists “to expand the audience for their work and broadens consumer access to experience storytelling, independent film, and media.” A popular festival, don’t take a moment to wonder if you want to go. You do and get tickets now before the festival ends.

Sports Bars

New York Rangers are inching their way to the playoffs for the Stanley Cup (psst…that’s Hockey). Most of us don’t have an extra thousand dollars laying around and will be watching from the sidelines otherwise known as the television. And there are plenty around the city to catch the Rangers or any other summer sport in the comfort of cool air and beverages.

  • The Long Room (Midtown): Close to Times Square without a tourist feel
  • Blue Haven (Greenwich Village): Lots of screens including a 7-footer, plenty of natural light
  • Harlem Tavern (Harlem): Not technically a sports bar for a more family friendly environment
  • Stout (2 locations - Midtown, FiDi): 3-levels, projectors and locations perfect for after work drinks

Hollywood on Broadway

Have you been hearing the buzz? The Tony Awards are June 12th and the media is hot with reviews of the nominees for this year. Several featuring Hollywood actors and must see performances:

  • Music Man: Sutton Foster & Hugh Jackman
  • Take Me Out: Jesse Williams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Patrick Adams
  • Plaza Suite: Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderwick
  • Mr. Saturday Night: Billy Crystal

Pride Month & NYC Pride March (All Month)

The city celebrates all month equality for all sparked by a “moment” in 1969.  Events, talks, parties, drag shows all culminate to the main event: the march on June 26. Every weekend is guaranteed a party.
