Dare we say November is more festive than December? You be the judge...
Light Shows Galore
The days are shorter and the nights are longer, let the lights come out. Randall’s Island is host to the inaugural year of 2019 LuminoCity Festival “an immersive wonderland of lights” with workshops, themed events and an exhibition of light art displays. You can also witness the Swarovski star raised on the tree in Rockefeller Center along with the nightly lightings and see the city come a live as twinkle lights start lining the streets on lamp posts, trees and store fronts.
Get in the ‘Spirit’
This month is all about libation festivals and it’s just a matter of how you like to warm yourself from the inside out: Cider Tasting (Nov. 14), Beerathon (Nov. 16); Whiskey Festival (Nov. 16).
Trains, balloon planes, and a circus show?
November has plenty of fun for the family starting with the New York Botanical Garden. Check out their annual Holiday Train Show with night-life events for the adults. If you’re staying during Thanksgiving, bundle the family up and see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade (we’ve got the tips to navigate this spectacular day). Cap the family fun off with spectacular acts and stunts at the Big Apple Circus.
Jump start on the gift list
In November all of the Holiday Markets open their doors so you can get a head start on the gift list: Bryant Winter Wonderland, Holiday Market - Union Square, and Holiday Market - Grand Central Station. Perfect places to find a unique present for anyone.
It may not be the most festive, but we can definitely agree it’s packed with plenty to do! Make sure to pick hotels in New York City central to it all to be close to all the action.
