New York City is a great destination location for events, providing entertainment, hotels near Times Square, restaurants and many options for event space. Planning said event can be stressful if you’re not familiar with the area, where to book, what to ask about, or look for. We asked Brooke our Associate Director of Sales, who books events like fundraisers, board meetings and company gatherings at Park Central, to share advice about booking your next event.
-
Be Flexible. High season in New York is typically April - June and September - November. If your dates are flexible, booking during the off-season in the city will save on rates. Also, give plenty of lead time to book the space. We recommend 6 months for groups smaller than 100 and 1 year in advance for larger groups/events.

Think outside of the box. Looking for rehearsal space in New York City? Book a ballroom instead of a studio space. Park Central works closely with groups from Carnegie Hall to host; and performance groups love the ballrooms for practice space.
-
Take advantage of the services provided. Often event spaces have delegated staff to help you plan your event and be there day of to make sure you have all you need. Park Central has a dedicated service manager who assists with pre-planning to make sure nothing is forgotten - catering, AV needs for presentations, changing areas, flowers, etc and day-of to ensure you have a successful event.

What’s Unique? Ask the contact why people like their space or what’s special about booking there. Most event spaces are pretty standard so the things that will stand out are pricing, amenities and special features. The most common question asked about our space is about windows in our meeting rooms. Unlike most hotels, all but two of our meeting rooms have windows. Lots of natural light!
Whether large or small, formal or social, the right space makes the difference. Take these pro-tips and book away. It’s off-season so take advantage of New York hotel deals.
